At Indivumed Services, we are convinced that the quality of biospecimen and the data obtained from them is crucial to make all relevant details of a cancer disease transparent.

Within our worldwide Clinical Network we guarantee constant high quality of specimen. All our clinical partners around the globe have implemented our unique and in-depth standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest level of comparability.

As a result, we are able to map the molecular reality of solid cancer and thus allow to truly understand the mode of action of oncological diseases.

Highest quality biospecimen reveal the insights of cancer

Precise data and biospecimen make all the difference: for our own analyses and customers’ research, for the development of therapeutics, and thus for patients.

That’s why it’s not just what we do that’s important, but above all how we do it. Unlike other biobanks, we work with standardized and ISO-certified SOPs that include an ischemia time for tissue of ≤10 minutes and cover 320 individual data points.

Indivumed thus ensures a unique and consistently high breadth and depth of information.

How our clinical network works

Our Global Clinical Network

We collect clinical data and biospecimen through
collaborating partner clinics on four continents and in ten countries. Diversified ethnicities and entities on the one hand and uniform SOPs, a central research laboratory, and one cancer database on the other are unique and make Indivumed’s work so valuable.

Collection of Patient Data, Tissue, and Fluid Samples

Trained Indivumed personnel are present on site and in the OR to ensure that our SOPs are followed. With our SOPs, the process is fully controlled throughout the workflow: from the time of resection to biosampling, clinical data review, and storage. Of course, we strictly adhere to the applicable data protection guidelines (GDPR).

Tissue is the Issue

A minimum cold ischemia time of ≤10 minutes prevents false phosphorylation events in the tissue samples – going beyond that timeframe the quality loss increases dramatically.

Central Storage in Our Biobank

Some parts of the tissue is fresh frozen (FF) immediately at minus 165°C and other parts fixated in formalin and embedded in paraffin (FFPE). The pseudonymized patient data are stored centrally with the biospecimen in Hamburg, Germany or Frederick, USA.
